On Aug 25, 2026, in Palo Alto, we got together for Cool Chips - Hot Takes, an independent community gathering organized by AiNEKKO, AIFoundry, OpenHW Foundation, and 10xEngineers.
To kick off the event, Roman Shaposhnik, CTO and co-founder of AiNEKKO covered the connection between the past, the future and the cake!
And then he set the scene with hot takes from Hot Chips.
We were lucky that OpenAI announced Jalapeno just an hour before that, as we could could focus on the questions on “how” to do the same instead of “why” and “who would want that”. With that Roman led the discussion right into the questions “can other people (not just OpenAI) do that”, “how open source can help” and “what are the problems worth solving”.
